Accessible and relevant to hunters, academics and the wider public. More often than not, the book is about what might constitute 'philosophically' conscious hunting. It also offers a selection of chapters that focus on salient dimensions in hunting. These include gender, history, film, amongst others, as well as a sprinkle of ethnographic contributions. Though it sometimes falls short, due to a few authors not accounting for the ethnocentricity of their hunting encounters in making their generalisations, it is a compelling and very readable selection.
