Hare Krishna & Happy New Year!

The Toronto Hare Krishna Temple would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year as we usher in 2016!  Last year was incredible with a flurry of special guests, enlivening and educational seminars, colourful festivals and more!  The year concluded with a very successful "Book Marathon" as several thousands of books on yoga, meditation and our rich spiritual tradition were shared with the public.

This year marks the official worldwide celebrations for ISKCON’s 50th Anniversary.  Over 600+ Hare Krishna temples and communities around the world will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of our beloved founder, Srila Prabhupada, incorporating the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in 1966 in New York City.  Toronto’s Hare Krishna temple will be having year-long celebrations!  Stay tuned!

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank all of our devotees, patrons and donors for their continued support and generosity through 2015.  We wish you and your families a very happy and Krishna Conscious 2016!

VISITING GUEST - We will be welcoming Sankarshan das Adhikari to our community from Jan 7th to 11th.  He will be conducting a special seminar on Saturday, January 9th at 6:30pm at the temple.  The seminar will be entitled “Pure Devotional Service is for Everyone”.  Sankarshan Das Adhikari has been a practitioner and teacher of the science of Bhakti Yoga for over 36 years. He is based out of Texas, USA and he regularly gives lectures on bhakti yoga, enlivening and enlightening many audiences with this knowledge.  He regularly travels in North America, Europe, India, and even in middle-eastern countries to meet with students to share the innermost secrets of how to perfect one’s consciousness. DONATE EACH MONTH! - As we kick off 2016, there is no better time than now to sign up for our “Friends of Gopinatha” program!  Being a “Friend of Gopinatha” involves giving an automatic donation each month to the temple.  As you may know, Toronto’s Hare Krishna Temple regularly serves prasadam (a vegetarian feast) to hundreds of devotees each Sunday evening, hosts huge festivals throughout the year, conducts outreach programs to students and the yoga community and so much more!  You can donate each month as an automatic payment from your bank, or even by credit card.  Your generous support helps us make all of our programs at the temple happen! All donations receive a charitable tax receipt.  To become a Friend of Gopinath contact us today!
VOLUNTEER- The Toronto Hare Krishna Temple has always relied on the power of volunteer efforts to help deliver all of the amazingly successful programs for our community. Volunteering also means meeting incredible, new people who share strong, spiritual values.  We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals and you can sign-up today!  We are currently accepting volunteers for our Kitchen and for our weekly Sunday Feast.  This means helping with vegetable cut-up in the kitchen, or perhaps some cleaning.  It can also mean helping to setup and prepare for our weekly Sunday Feast where we host over 400 guests each week.  We would love to have you join our team!  If you are interested in joining our team, click here to sign up as a volunteer!
