Understanding the Tax Rules of Property Income

As a landlord, there are three main ways in which you can source residential rental income. These are: furnished lets & unfurnished lets, rent a room exemption and furnished holiday lets. In business today one of the many targets businesses are asked to achieve usually involves Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), which may include sponsorship, volunteering or skills sharing. Thankfully many see CSR as a key part of their business plan and not just as a PR opportunity (although it is of course a very good PR opportunity!). Read more.

The Chamber had a busy festive season, which included the annual Christmas Dinner at the Spice Lodge. We'd like to thank owner Mohammed Rahman and his staff for their warm hospitality and exquisite Indian and Thai cuisine. We'd also like to congratulate Mohammed (see below) for receiving the coveted 'Best Restaurant in the South West' by the British Curry Awards during 2015.
We'd also like to thank Matt Jenkin, Harrison Clark Rickerbys, for his excellent employment law update seminar. More to follow in 2016.
