Ring in the New Year by Wintersowing
January 10, 2016, 2:30-4:30 PM; Room 259, The Priory, 7200 W. Division St., River Forest, IL
Last year we had such a lovely and companionable time sowing seeds we had collected.
Let's do it again and make it a tradition! What more hopeful way (and frugal) way to begin the new year than with sowing the seeds of beauty and life for 2016? Our good friend Linda Walker who led us through last year's workshop will return again this year.
Please bring a container with a lid (a perfect way to reuse those salad mix clamshells) and some native seeds if you have any. If you don't, no worries--many of us have some to share.
If you have a little time too, consider cleaning the seeds too (separate the actual seeds from the pappus, etc).
If you are unsure of what the actual seeds look like, you can consult Prairie Moon for your plant: www.prairiemoon.com
It's interesting getting to know where the seeds are, and once you do, you will find an efficient way of getting to the seeds. E-mail us if you are unsure, and if we don't know, we'll try to find out. westcook@outlook.com
Free and open to the public. Park on the east side of The Priory and enter through the door on the east. Follow the hallway to the end, turn left, and follow that hallway. Turn right up the stairs (or go straight to the elevator), and head up to the second floor.
For the accessibility entrance, enter through the south doors. There is an elevator, which goes to the second floor. Exit the elevator and turn left for Room 259.
