Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

To all my old and new friends. Thank you for all the prayers and support this year. I'm excited that next this greeting will come from Zambia.
This year the reoccurring theme I kept hearing was Immanuel, God with us. Watching one particular live Nativity scene, I was quite struck by the reality of God as a human being, and not just a human being, but a helpless baby. The Cross and all its torture was coming a few years later. But the drop from Heaven, His status of Creator of the world, King of kings and Lord of lords to a baby who can't feed himself and needs diaper changes and has to be carried from place to place is almost incomprehensible. I realized in a new way that God showed up on earth looking like the little ones I take care of in my pediatric office. No other religion or worldview has such an offering of love!
Thank Him for His complete sacrifice this season as we head into the new year.
