Dear Members, Supporters and Friends

Lot 3 Hammonds Farm Community Survey has been launched and is available for your views, comments and input. Do help us by completing it.

As shareholders and supporters your views are especially important to us. Please do take the time to let us know what is important to you in the development of this land and what produce and services you may wish to benefit from.

The group of potential users is now meeting regularly and will come together at the end of January to begin to design the farm pattern.  It will be most valuable if we could have as many responses as possible by 28th January from you and the local community to help us plan to meet the wishes and needs of yourselves and the general public as is feasible with this group of farmers and growers on this land.

Please share this survey with your friends, families, neighbours, any association or business contacts or anyone you think it may be relevant to. The wider the response the better the information.

Further details are available on our website especially the latest post: http://www.biodynamiclandtrust.org.uk/community-survey-launched

We will be very grateful if everyone can spread the word so that we get as much feedback from the wider community as possible and we are place in a offering a prize draw to anyone participating this month.

So what food do you want and what activities would you like to join? Please tell us.
This continues to be a very exciting and innovative farm development project.

If you do visit the land, walk the public footpath or walk your dog on the land we are launching a Land Survey next week and we would be pleased to have your observations on sun, wind, frost and water as part of this initial approach to how the world affects our land.

Any special features that you note can also be added. The sheets and maps for this will be on the website and some at the main access points to the land next week.

Please do always take due care of gates, fences and caution around animals in the fields. As we progress in our work on this land we will have clearer public access and some more separation from cattle when needed. In the meantime it is up to each visitor to take due care.

Please 'scoop any poop' it can be dangerous for both children and cattle. Thank you.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH
We have this week closed the funding gap and have reached the full funding for this land acquisition!
With the help of the great offer of matched funding for the last push to fund this project against any shares and gifts that came in between mid October and Christmas and a last minute new share application this week, we have now raised the necessary £390,000. This is made up of a mix of shares, gifts, gift-aid, loans and Land Trust core-donation funds.

It is through your support, interest and imagination that we can achieve such great resuilts for our community (and others).

We now have 7 potential projects interested in making a living and connecting with the public for the benefit of the whole community. Thank you.
Over the next months (probably a year) we will be running various surveys, events and introductory activities as well as consultations on various aspects of this land and its uses, history and your personal and family interests - We hope you will join us in many of these to share your perspectives, the local history/stories you may know, gain new skills and share in conservation projects.

We wish you a great year in 2016 and hope to see you joining in activities with us.

Best wishes

Gabriel for the BDLT team
