Week of January 11,  2016 | KC Streetcar Update

KC STREETCAR TESTING & PARKING
KC Streetcar testing of vehicle #802 will take place at night this week, between the hours of 10:00pm - 6:00am. The various tests include checks on noise, vibration, loads and rider comfort.

There is no parking this week along Main Street from south of 20th Street to Pershing and Main Street will be closed between south of 20th Street and Pershing between the hours of 10:00pm - 6:00am. This is to accommodate the streetcar testing.

We anticipate Operator Vehicle Training to start this Friday on KC Streetcar vehicle #801. Once operator training on the vehicle begins, the public can expect the streetcars to be making daily trips on Main Street between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, at least.  Operator Vehicle Training may also take place at night and during the weekends.

The second class of streetcar operators started classroom orientation and training this week. To date, there are 14 individuals going through streetcar operator orientation and training. KC Streetcar maintenance staff has also been hired and currently being trained.
