Cheers for VoluntEARS!
Walt Disney World Resort's Corporate Citizenship team has approved our request for Disney VoluntEARS support for the regional tournament! We are so excited and grateful for this support! Please reach out to your team members' parents and others in your networks who might know people who work at Disney and ask them to encourage their Disney connections to visit Disney's internal communication site to sign up to volunteer for us — either as workers or (especially) as judges. This helps our region in a significant way in that not only do we gain volunteer support, but Disney also will provide grants to Magic Center based on their employees' volunteerism.
Disney is one of many local employers that offers volunteer grants. Please check out the Volunteer Grant Program sidebar on our How to Help page for other organizations that offer similar programs, and help us find volunteers from these companies.
Finalizing Judge Information
All information for JUDGES must be finalized within the next couple of days, as we will be completing the schedule this weekend. Correct judge information ensures we do not assign a judge to a team for which they have a conflict. To make last-minute changes for the judge you registered, email Anna Long ASAP.
Mandatory Judges Training
and Coaches Meeting
Make sure your calendars are marked for Saturday, Feb. 6, the date of MANDATORY Judges Training and Coaches Meeting at Edgewater High School, 3100 Edgewater Drive, Orlando. The judges training is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the coaches meeting is from
8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
All judges must attend the training, and cheese or pepperoni pizza will be provided for lunch. If they prefer, judges may bring their own lunch.
At least one coach from each team must attend the coaches meeting.
Please Pick Up Makeup Kits
If you ordered a theatrical makeup kit but have not yet picked it up, please contact Anna Long to make arrangements to do so by the end of the week.
SAK Sold Out
The SAK Comedy Lab Spontaneous Workshop is sold out, and no additional waitlisted teams can be accommodated. All confirmed teams were emailed earlier today.
