Register now for the Verdant Healthier Community Conference on Feb. 29
The Verdant Health Commission's full day conference on Monday, Feb. 29 at the Lynnwood Convention Center will bring together several of the Puget Sound region’s leading experts in health, wellness and community building. Verdant is proud to have Dr. Wendy Sue Swanson, Pediatrician at Seattle Children’s Hospital, as the breakfast keynote speaker for the conference.  Author of the popular “Seattle Mama Doc” blog, Dr. Swanson is a practicing pediatrician, a weekly TV reporter, Huffington Post blogger and active thought leader. In addition, participants can choose 4 of 12 breakout sessions that will cover topics on personal and family health, workplace and group health and the health of the community as a whole. The conference fee is $49 per person and includes a healthy breakfast and lunch. Scholarships are available.

Hands-on Cooking Class: Sensational Citrus
Start out 2016 with a hands-on cooking class showcasing the variety and versatility of oranges, grapefruits and lemons. You will learn ways to add vitamin C-rich zest, juice, and flavor to a variety of dishes. During the class, students will be preparing 3 recipes: orange and lime-marinated chicken thighs, a citrus salad and a grapefruit brulee. Cost is $15 per person, scholarships available to those who qualify.
