We have three primary committee's for social, political and creative action.
Since 2009, The Shrinking Violet Society has gathered for monthly brunch meetups. Sometimes referred to as Spokane's "sassy social co-op," we meet for Ladies+ Who Lunch on the 2nd Saturday of every month. Fem+Drinks is our feminist happy hour meetup on the 4th Thursday of the month. Volunteers host additional events throughout the year, including clothing exchanges, music and wine socials, craft parties and more.
The Political Action Committee rallies volunteers in support of local political candidates. Activities may include door knocking, flyer distribution, phone calls and social media campaign support.
Spokane NOW is a 501(c)4 organization. Donations are not tax deductible because we are established as a political action group, and we endorse elected officials who demonstrate a commitment to intersectional feminist values of justice, equity and empowerment for womxn and girls+. FEM+FEST Feminist Art Festival was launched in April 2018 at The Bartlett in Spokane WA. The vision and mission of this art show is to present positive, diverse representations of feminist art and artists from the Inland Northwest.
