PARK DISTRICT ANNOUNCES BOARD VACANCY: In anticipation of Commissioner Mayo’s departure, the Glen Ellyn Park District will be seeking candidates to serve as Park District Commissioner for approximately one year until the next Park District Commissioner election which will take place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. As part of the process to fill the vacancy, the Glen Ellyn Park District will accept applications of interested candidates through 8:00 p.m. on February 22, 2016. Learn More

  • Preschool Drawing with Young Rembrandts
    Beginning artists will have lots of fun while learning valuable motor and drawing techniques. Kids will learn new drawings in every class thanks to our 5-year, no-repeat curriculum.
  • 2/22-3/14: Awesome Robotics
    Kids will design unique projects using LEGO kits!
  • Ballroom Dance and Swing Dance for Adults
    Learn to dance either swing or ballroom with ease and confidence in these classes for ages 18 & up.
  • 3/3-4/21: Mars Jamzz Guitar
    Four fun Martians: Bjorn, Bebe, Brubar and Stan, teach students the parts of the guitar, notes, guitar tablature, chords, fun songs in a group setting. Age: 9-12

Arctic Blast
Save the Date: Arctic Blast is February 21

We're hosting an afternoon of FREE frosty family fun and games at Newton Park on February 21 from 1-3pm. Come join the celebration and enjoy activities including ice skating races, sled races, snowball toss, and snow art! Warm yourself by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows. Please bring your own skates, sled, or saucer. Arctic Blast will be held weather-permitting. Please check our weather hotline at www.gepark.org on the day of the event.

FREE Nature Photography Share Session

Are you an amateur nature photographer? Enjoy capturing all things flora and fauna? Do sunsets and scenic landscapes make your index finger twitchy? We are trying something new to let you share your talents and images with like-minded folks. Each person needs to bring a thumb/flash drive with up to 30 images. A laptop and screen will be provided. Take turns sharing photos and giving brief descriptions and location details on each shot.

Plight of the Pollinator
A Message from Our Friends at the DuPage Monarch Project
Plight of the Pollinator | Feb. 23 at 7pm

Learn more about the simple, easy things that can be done to help pollinators at an upcoming free program sponsored by the DuPage Monarch Project, River Prairie Group of the Sierra Club and Glen Ellyn Environmental Commission. "Plight of the Pollinator" will be presented by Andre Copeland, Interpretative Programs Manager of the Chicago Zoological Society at Brookfield Zoo on Tuesday, February 23 at 7pm.

Location: Glen Ellyn Public Library. Registration is not required.

Speed Skating at Center Ice

Do you LOVE to skate? Be a part of one of the oldest traditions in Glen Ellyn and try racing on skates! On Sunday, February 14, come to Center Ice of DuPage to watch members of the Glen Ellyn Speed Skating Club race other novice racers, and then try your own skills out against other "citizen racers" in the area. No experience necessary! Novice racing begins at 4:30pm, and citizen races will be held at the conclusion, at approximately 5:30pm. Pre-registration is recommended.
