Upset Recovery Training (it's not the same as Anger Management)

Upset Recovery Training was the last pilot training event Courtney needed to accomplish before our return to Indonesia.  This advanced instruction focuses on extreme recovery techniques if the aircraft somehow got into a very radical attitude. This required a specialized airplane and the wearing of a parachute as some acrobatic flight training is involved. This was a lot of fun, plus great specialized training.  See the video below.

Visa is almost in hand!

Our visa approval was wired to the Indonesian Consulate last week and all we need to do now is send our passports and payments to the consulate. Thanks you for praying for our visas! Even though our visas are in, we still need to postpone a little longer than we originally planned as monthly donations to Wycliffe are currently $250 short of the ministry budget amount required by Wycliffe. Originally, the shortfall was $1000 a month, so it has come a long way through generous and faithful partners! We are praising God for His provision through His people and look forward to seeing how He will provide for this final $250 a month! Please pray with us for this, thanks!

In faith, we purchased airline tickets departing from Seattle April 7th. We plan to remain in Oregon through the end of February and then be in Spokane in March.

Our time in the States have been really good and it has been great to connect with so many of you. We still have some time left so if you want to get together with us before we leave let us know and let's make it happen. :)

Stitches, Birthdays, and Family Fun

David turned 6 years old this month and was happy to celebrate his first birthday in America and to enjoy it with cousins!
A week before his birthday, he accidentally tripped while we were in a parking lot heading back to our car. If he had only hit the pavement, he would have been fine. But his head hit a cement curb and gave him a cut near his left eyebrow. He received 6 stitches from our family doctor (and 3 reward stickers!) and he was still smiling! He is getting a lot of unwanted attention about it, either sympathy or congratulations, but he healed up just fine.
It has been an extra wet Oregon winter but we have still found some time for some outdoor adventures like hikes to Silver Creek Water Falls (Addy is pretending she can drink from the falls!) and to the Cascade Mountains to play in the snow.
