Acts Series Begins This Sunday
We are excited to launch our next in-depth study of God's Word as we begin working through the book of Acts. This New Testament book details the growth of the early church under the leadership of Jesus' own disciples. The mission of the first century church continues to be our mission today as we seek to obey Jesus' command to make disciples of all nations. Their story is our story. State of the Church 2016
On Sunday, January 24, Northstar Church will celebrate our annual State of the Church Sunday. We hope you'll join us for this special day when we look back at what God has done in us and through us in 2015 while looking ahead with humility and prayer as we seek to follow His call in 2016. We are excited to share this Sunday with you and will be a wonderful opportunity for you to invite friends, neighbors, and co-workers to learn about what God is doing in the life of Northstar Church.

Saturday Seminary
Coming up on Saturday, January 30, you're invited to come and hear what the Bible has to say about the theology of sin as we ask the question, are we meant to be sinless or just to sin less? This will be the first of our Saturday Seminary session for 2016. We are excited to partner with Cru at Virginia Tech to offer more sessions throughout the spring, which are designed to equip and encourage you.

Tubing with Connect!
Winter has finally arrived in the New River Valley! Are you staying toasty warm in your blanket with sleeves next to your space heater? Or are you embracing the seasonably frigid temperatures? Connect, Northstar's college ministry, will be headed to the mountains of West Virginia for an evening of tubing on the slopes at Winterplace and we want you to join us. This will be an awesome time to invite a friend to join in on the fun! Things will get started at 4:00 p.m. on February 12 when we'll leave from the Northstar Ministry Center and the cost is $19.

Upcoming Marriage Retreat
Coming February 5 and 6, you and your spouse are invited to join us for With - A Northstar Marriage Retreat. This will be a wonderful opportunity to invest in your marriage with a weekend getaway for a time of reconnection, relaxation, and fun. We will take time to study what God has to say about marriage and how you can practically apply that to your relationship. Look for tickets available for purchase beginning this Sunday, January 3, at church.

Foundations
On Monday, February 8, we hope you'll join us from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. for an encouraging night as we seek to understand the essentials of what it means to be a follower of Christ. In Foundations, our discipleship minister, Adam Wilson, along with other Northstar leaders, will lead a time of teaching as well as small group discussion. This evening will have something for everyone, whether you're a mature believer seeking refreshment, a new believer whose beginning your faith journey, or even a curious non-believer. Baby Dedication in January
If you are a Northstar member and the parent of an infant or toddler, we invite you to take part in our baby dedication service on Sunday, January 31 at the 9:00 a.m. service. We will also have an orientation for participating families on Saturday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m. And if you are not dedicating your own child, we hope you will join us in committing ourselves as a church to helping parents in teaching their child about Christ's love.

GAP Family Feud
Small Groups are getting ready to start back up! We'll have our kickoff at the Ministry Center on Saturday the 23rd. There will be FAMILY FEUD, other awesome games, delectable snacks, and opportunities to learn more about what small groups will be running. Don't miss it, and feel free to invite a friend that might be interested in getting involved!

Small Groups for 2016
Small groups are at the core of Northstar's relationships and are where we seek to build a Christ-centered community. We want to encourage everyone to invest in a small group as we kick off the spring small group season during the week of January 24. Our small group leaders will be in the cafeteria at BMS to greet you and provide information about their groups, along with some breakfast goodies. Stop by and see them this Sunday, January 17 and during both services next Sunday, January 24.
