Spotlight: Morgan Stephenson
Morgan was awarded best in category by Tim Flach, who set the brief last year for the Social Media: Animal conservation category, Morgan's winning image can be seen above, we catch up with him in today's interview.
What did the Student award do for you ?
The kudos of winning Social Media and Animal Conservation Category of the AOP Student awards last year gave me the confidence to then initiate my own solo wildlife exhibition at WWT Wetlands Centre Washington, which was the perfect environment for my first solo exhibition,
The exhibition was so very well received that this has prompted the selection of some of my best wildlife image and am now in the process of producing a Wildlife Photographic book which will also form part of my final BA (Hons) Degree
In addition Newcastle College recognised the achievement of winning such a national accolade that I was nominated and won the £500 John Clarke Bursary Award .
Are there any new projects you are working on?
As previously stated I am in the process of producing a Wildlife Photography Book.
Any advice you would give to those entering this year?
People enter competitions for various reasons but my ethos was to enter images which reflect my passion which is Wildlife Photography. This passion has been with me since childhood so winning this AOP award gave me an ideal platform from which to share my love of nature.
Here's a glimpse of what is to expect in Morgan's book of Wildlife Photography, stunning!
