MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. UNITY BREAKFAST

Blue Ridge Community College will host its 16th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast on Monday, January 18, 2016. This year’s program, Pursuit of Happiness through Jobs and Freedom, will feature guest speaker Erik Dowdy. The breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the program to follow at 9:30 a.m. All events held at the Blue Ridge Conference Hall at Blue Ridge Community College in Henderson County. CITIZENS UNITED FILM SHOWING

JANUARY 22 AND 27 – At 7 pm, come see the film CITIZENS UNITED shown by Princess Ferguson at HCDP Headquarters. There will be time for interesting discussion after the film ... some coffee and popcorn, too. Suggested love offering $3.

John Ager, Jr. to speak at our February Breakfast!

At our February 6 breakfast we will have as speaker at 11:00 AM, North Carolina State District 115 (Buncombe County) Democratic Represen- tative John Ager, Jr. He will provide a summary of past year activities in the General Assembly and a review of Democratic chances in the forthcoming election.

Proposed amendments, if any, will be submitted in accordance with the applicable Articles of the documents and approved at the April Convention. PLEASE VOLUNTEER!

SPECIFIC HELP NEEDED FOR A NEW PROJECT – Lenore Barnett, who is heading up the creation of a new Event Location Directory, would like to hear from volunteers wishing to help. We have a one-page location information sheet to fill out for each location we visit. We are interested in having at least two locations in each outlying municipality so we can move around the County. There also are numerous sites in Hendersonville proper to explore. If you want to help, please call Lenore at 828-696-3132.

HAVE YOU FILLED OUT YOUR Volunteers in Action Interest Profile? PLEASE DO! Thanks to the many volunteers we already have working in many areas! Find the Volunteers in Action Interest Profile in a blue file in a box on the desk at HQ; put your completed form in the red folder where it will be shared with leaders whose areas you checked. Precinct work, election work, phoning, 2-hour office duty, are just a few of the important "job openings" we have currently! Do the "Profile" and call Nancy Glowacki at 828-606-5201. (Nancy will be away until January 19).
