Mentoring
The first session of this year's Mentoring programme was this week. The CCA will be buzzing with talk of new plays. The Mentors this year are Rob Drummond, Alan McKendrick and Lynda Radley.
Play Pieces Workshop
On Saturday 27 February Playwrights' Studio, Scotland will be supporting a day-long workshop for theatre makers at Eden Court, Inverness.
During the morning session there will be an opportunity to hear from the Producers Hub, Play Pieces and our Creative Director, Fiona, about the support and opportunities for creating new work. In the afternoon, Lewis Hetherington, will lead a playwriting workshop. 'Write Here, write now!' will explore practical, playful and dynamic techniques to develop your writing for the stage. TalkFest at the Tron
We return to the Tron to develop and celebrate the work of Scotland's playwrights. The Tron's spaces will be packed with new playwriting in the form of rehearsed readings, discussions, master classes, workshops, script surgeries and networking opportunities.This year's residency will be from Monday 18 - Saturday 23 April. Get the dates in your diary.

Arundel Festival Theatre Trail 2016
The Arundel Festival Theatre Trail, conceived and presented by Drip Action Theatre Company, is now in its sixteenth year. Eight short plays at eight different venues all over Arundel.

James Tait Black Award For Drama - Call For Entries
The James Tait Black Prize is Britain's oldest literary award and was extended to include drama for the first time in 2012. The prize for the best original new play written in English, Scots or Gaelic will be announced in August 2016.

The First National Octagon Prize
The Octagon Theatre is delighted to launch its first national writing prize: a competition celebrating new and original writing for the stage. Entrants over 16 with any level of experience are invited to submit 40-minute dramatic monologues of any theme or genre.
