Dear <<First Name>>,
I hope this message finds you and yours well and off to a good start in the New Year. This month I have returned to Ragdale, a retreat for creative professionals, located in a beautiful prairie landscape 30 miles north of my home in Chicago, as an artist in residence. I feel this is an ideal time gather members of the American Society for Acoustic Ecology (ASAE) who live in the Midwest, especially those who are not yet acquainted with Ragdale. I have scheduled a winter soundwalk on the grounds and in the large adjacent prairie which is managed by Open Lands.
I invite you to join us on Sunday, January 24, from 2:00 - 3:30 pm for the soundwalk, refreshments and conversation. The afternoon will be a great way to learn about Ragdale, the activities of the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology, and each other. My invitation is exclusively for you as a member of the American Society for Acoustic Ecology, your family members, my fellow Ragdale residents and prospective members of the ASAE who live in the region.
Kindly RSVP by the evening of Wednesday, January 20. This will help me inform the wonderful staff at Ragdale about attendance so we can plan for refreshments and children’s participation.
Please dress appropriately for walking in outdoor weather!
Parking is available at 1230 N. Green Bay Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045. We will meet at 2:00pm in the Barnhouse conference room for a brief introduction before we set out. If you have any questions, please don;t hesitate to call me: 773-342-5012.
I look forward to seeing you on the 24th or very soon.
All the best,
Eric Leonardson
