Governing Council Updates:

To keep you in the loop, you will be receiving weekly or bi-weekly emails about what is going on with Viva Village, with events and volunteer opportunities so you can stay involved and connected.

We invite your input and questions at VivaVillageOR@gmail.com. You can also join us on an action or project team and help us get ready to launch in October. In addition, we’d love to see you at any of the upcoming events listed below.

The Governing Council meets next on January 26. In the meantime, volunteers and council members have been busy with projects such as:

  • planning for our new database, website, and email designations
  • developing an effective plan to approach business supporters
  • working on membership documents
  • writing press releases
  • updating our website to reflect the move to Governing Council
  • updating the volunteer handbook with current information
  • Village 101 presentation with a follow-up Volunteer orientation
  • organizing the monthly Nature Walk
  • meeting to plan our upcoming events.

A big thank you to all the people working on these projects! The Council relies on you!

Seeking Volunteers:

Here's a project with a limited time commitment:

Fold and mail a paper copy of our newsletter to those on our contact list who do not use email. Help us keep everyone up to date on Viva Village. This could be a one-time project or ongoing, whatever fits your schedule. The newsletter is published every other month.

Let us know if you could help us out. VivaVillageOR@gmail.com

Still needed:

MS OneDrive:
We would much appreciate someone who can teach us the in’s and out’s of using OneDrive and creating a document library. Although several of us currently use it, we need guidance to understand it more fully.

Contact us at VivaVillageOR@gmail.com.

Report on the Nature Walklake photo

Saturday’s Nature Walk was timed perfectly. The sun came out just at the right time, and the temperature was over 50°. Enjoying the pleasantly brisk air, the walkers saw 4 to 5 different types of ducks as they circled Commonwealth Lake.
