A Note From Our President

We're one week into the new year and we've hit the ground running.  I'm glad to report that our committee chairs have been appointed and have started work, specifically formalizing the committee membership.  Thanks to everyone who have shown interest in the work that MNL does on behalf of the sector, we'll make our committee selections within the coming weeks and notify successful candidates.

MNL announced this week that we've hired PhD candidate Sarah Minnes under a pilot project as our Municipal Water Liaison.  This pilot project will run from February 1 to July, 30, 2016 and she will be available via telephone (1-709-630-0287) and email to answer your drinking water related questions.  This project is a direct result from feedback we received during the 2013/2014 regional meetings and we are delighted to make good on  this request.

And last but not certainly not least the MNL Board of Directors will meet in St. John's later this month to discuss our work-plan for the upcoming year.  While in the capital city we will meet with Premier Dwight Ball, Minister of Municipal Affairs Eddie Joyce and Parliamentary Secretary Graham Letto to discuss our vision for the sector and how we can work together to strengthen our communities.

Thanks and take care,
— Karen Oldford
