This final issue in Volume 7 includes articles that address the breadth of philanthropy in the areas of research, sector, and reflective practice. The issue begins with an open access special section on Theory of Philanthropy and features an article about theory of philanthropy, two case studies illustrating different specific theories, and reflections and commentary. Call for Papers and Grant Requests

We are currently soliciting abstracts and grant requests for a themed issue of The Foundation Review on Exiting with Impact. For this issue, we seek articles that rigorously address how a philanthropic funder can make a constructive or even impactful exit. Through the support of our sponsoring foundations, we are able to offer small research grants to help defray the direct costs of research on these challenges. Submit abstracts by Feb. 29, 2016.

Abstracts of up to 250 words are being solicited for Vol. 8 Issue 4 of The Foundation Review. This issue will be an open, unthemed issue. Papers on any topic relevant to organized philanthropy are invited. Abstracts are due by March 15, 2016.
The Foundation Review is the first peer-reviewed journal of philanthropy, written by and for foundation staff and boards, and those who work with them implementing programs. It provides rigorous research and writing, presented in an accessible style.

Our mission: To share evaluation results, tools, and knowledge about the philanthropic sector in order to improve the practice of grantmaking, yielding greater impact and innovation.
