2015- A Year in Review
Dear <<First Name>>,
2015 - what a year for Pajaro Valley Loaves and Fishes! We served more meals than we ever have before - 36,000 nutritious, hot lunches and 18,000 nutritionally balanced grocery bags. We worked our hardest to ensure that each of these meals were nutritious, incorporated local, healthy produce, and that our participants were equipped and empowered with the knowledge to utilize these healthy foods at home.
Our Pantry and Lunch programs continued to serve families during the holidays. On Thanksgiving Day we served over 280 lunches, a 27% increase from 2014, and distributed take-home poultry to over 400 families.
We partnered with Toys for Tots and distributed toys and Christmas poultry to over 210 families representing 498 children. This year, thanks to generous volunteer support, we did something a little special - parents were able to select their children’s toys, picking that special gift for their loved ones. Over 210 joined us on Christmas day for lunch.
PVLF volunteers assist clients with their Christmas toy selections.
2015 was our strongest year of fundraising. Our record-breaking Empty Bowls brought in $108,000 in funding, allowing us to start the construction of our ADA compliant Ramp, install new windows, paint the house, construct a protective awning for our lunch service, and continue our work strong into 2016.
All of this and more is accomplished because of community members like you, and we thank you deeply for your support and commitment to nourishing change here in Pajaro Valley. We look forward to another strong and meaningful year in 2016!
