Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus are running a series of events for LGBT History Month, to celebrate the lives and experiences of LGBT plus adults and older people across our Region, as well as to officially launch our organisation. Our events (all based at the Stove, 100 High Street, Dumries, DG1 2BN) will include:
Sunday 21st February (1.30pm – 4.30pm) – Launch Event, including:
- the official launch of Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus
- the launch of our new regular Pop-Up Freedom Café space at the Stove (run by the fabulous staff from Mrs Green's Tea Lounge)
- on the hour Gay Gordon’s Flash Mob in Dumfries High Street
- Visual History – browse some of the writing, drawing, photographs and other visual creations of local LGBT plus people and their allies (if you have something you'd like to contribute to this, please contact support@lgbtplus.org.uk)
- Human Library – sit down for a coffee and hear the experiences of local LGBT plus people on coming out as (and being) lesbian, gay, bisexual / pansexual, transgender including when you are older, disabled, or in the military.
- Kids Art Space – face-painting and drawing space where kids can either freestyle, or design a positive LGBT awareness poster for our poster competition. Categories include under 7s; 7-12s; 12-16s.
- Consultation – tell us what you think our priorities should be for 2016/17
- Stalls - find out more about Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus, as well as some of our partner organisations

Film screening, discussion and focus group hosted by our weekly Rainbow Circle Group.
