So does January feel like a 'fresh start' to you too? I hope so! I'm clearing out some works-in-progress and on Saturday actually began a project with no purpose and no deadline - just something I've had in my mind to dabble with. That is one of my goals this year . . . create for the joy of creating. It feels good!
WHAT'S UP
After a few queries about quilt math recently, I rounded up some terrific tutorials from around the web. If you find quilt math pesky in the least, hopefully you'll find some help here.
WORTH A READ
Look for the new series on color that is already underway: "Colour: A Blog Series", hosted by Michelle/Factotum of Arts, with a great list of contributing bloggers.
Always on the look-out for Paper Piecing Tips, I noticed a new series by Penny Layman on we all sew. I've already picked up some tips, including the use of a seam roller, which I'm anxious to try next time I paper-piece.
The new Paper Cut quilt block series by Stacey/SLOstudio is so striking! Do check it out. The first block can be used in a variety of settings - all really terrific.
ROUND-UP
The feature this issue is equilateral triangle quilts! Since the 'block' is basically the same in each quilt, I'll keep the narrative to a minimum, and let you discover for yourself the variances in use of color, 'negative space', composition, and fabric type. Enjoy!
