Introducing Farmigo!

Your Way to Get Farm Fresh Food, Coffee, and More and Benefit Spiritridge!

Farmigo is an online farmer’s market, where you can shop for fresh, delicious food — vegetables, fruit, meat, seafood, eggs, dairy, breads, and more. Farmigo connects communities like ours to local farms, coordinating with a network of small farmers and artisans to bring us all sorts of tasty, healthy things straight from the farm to our kitchens!

Farmigo and Spiritridge School Partnership

Every time we purchase fresh, local food from Farmigo, we’re not just supporting local farmers - with enough orders, Farmigo will give 10% of the sales towards raising funds for the school.

How Does it Work?

  1. Join our Community at www.farmigo.com/spiritridgeelementaryptsa  Shop! There’s no commitment to order, no minimums, and no delivery fees.
  2. Place your order by Sundays at midnight each week.
  3. On Wednesdays, you can pick up your pre-packed order from 4-7 pm right down the street from school!
  4. Your credit card will be charged on Thursdays — and don’t worry, there’s a 100% money-back guarantee on every item!

For more info, contact Emily Taibl at EMILYTAIBL@COMCAST.NET

USE COUPON CODE LOCAL20 FOR 20% OFF YOUR ORDER!

Nuts and Bolts from the School Office

Absences:  If your child will be out ill, please call 425-456-5901 or e-mail  spiritridgeattendance@bsd405.org to  report your child’s absence.  You do not need to wait until the morning – feel free to call and leave a message or e-mail at any time.     If your child is absent and you have not called, we will be making calls home to inquire about your child’s whereabouts.
Upcoming Vacations:  If you are planning for your child to be absent for reasons other than illness, you must notify the school office in advance.  We will ask you to fill out a Prearranged Absence form.  This form is reviewed and signed by your child’s teacher and the school principal.

Lunch Accounts:  Please keep adequate funds in your child’s lunch account.  Checks can be made out to “BSD” and can be dropped off in the school office.   You may also set up an account with Paypams.com, which allows you to deposit money and check balances.

Weather:  As the winter months are approaching, please ensure that your child comes to school dressed for the weather.  Boots and coats with hoods are necessary attire for our upcoming blustery weather.  Please instruct your children that they must make every attempt to stay dry during the recess periods.  The office does not have dry clothes for students who get wet at recess.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up: No matter how congested, slow and frustrating the traffic may become in the morning and afternoons, we must all remember that the safety of our children is our number one priority.  Please drive carefully and watch out for our little ones!  Thank you.

Yearbook Orders are Due

Yearbook order forms went home several weeks ago. You may order the yearbook by turning in the form with payment or by going online to ybpay.lifetouch.com and entering the yearbook ID code 3043516. Please disregard the order deadline listed on the form. If you have other questions or would like to see samples of the available options, please contact Melissa Saunders at melissasaunders91@gmail.com.

Community News:

Support For A New Roller Rink

Two former employees of Bellevue Skate King Roller Rink, Ayla Webb and Alan Chopay, are seeking out support for the opening of a new skating rink on the Eastside. Alan Chopay is leading the project to have a new roller rink opened in the wake of the tragic loss of Bellevue Skate King. The first step of this project is to show investors this is a project with large amounts of interest from the community, and they are hoping to demonstrate this support to them by getting a large amount of ‘likes’ gathered on a Facebook page created for this project. The Facebook page is www.facebook.com/newskatingrink.  At the top of the page is a picture of a group of dedicated skaters on Skate King’s old floor, identifiable to anyone who ever skated there by the hand-painted mural of Seattle scenery in the background. If yourself, your family members, and any interested friends could simply help this project by ‘liking’ this Facebook page, that will give us evidence to present to investors that a new roller rink on the Eastside will be a popular and successful business. Liking and visiting this Facebook page will also give those wondering about progress a place to go to receive updates on how this project is advancing.
