Donate A Bottle of Wine or Host a Pay-It-Forward Party for the Lawton Art Auction
We need to procure (get donated) bottles of wine for the Lawton Spring Art Auction.  The Auction is tentatively scheduled for April 1st, but with the holidays upon us now is the time to start procuring wine donations from Lawton parents, friends and family.

Ideas for hosting a Pay-It-Forward Party for Lawton:
Hosting or organizing your own fundraising event is an easy and terrific way to raise money for the Lawton Art Auction and to offer friends and family an opportunity to support our school and have fun. Most people bring a host/hostess gift anyway so you can just direct them to donate it instead.  Are you having a party this year? Ask your guests (family, friends, co-workers) to donate a bottle of wine (request a value of $25 or more) to Lawton's Spring Art auction.
Here's how to get started:
Add the wine donation request to the invitation for your next:
  • Superbowl party
  • Book club
  • Birthday (probably best for an adult party - request "gifts that give back", e.g. in lieu of a birthday gift please consider bringing a bottle of wine for donation to Lawton Elementary.....)
Provide your guest with the donation slips from the PTA to fill out at the party. Bring the donated bottles and donation slips to Stephanie Skinner after your party or the auction committee can also pick them up if that is easier for you. We will acknowledge the donation with a thank you letter (so the address is important) explaining the cause and tax-deductible information. (Or let us know if you'd prefer to send the thank you follow-up).
Below is a sample note to send to family/friends before a gathering:
"My kids school is doing a fundraiser and they are looking for wine donations (value $25 or more), this is a tax deductible donation. All proceeds from the wine auction will go to supporting art programs, physical education programs, and rebuilding their playground. If you would like to bring a bottle of wine to donate to this cause, I will gladly accept it and have a donation form for you."
If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Skinner or Amanda Linton
