NEW Workshop Added!
FHIMA Online ICD 10 Workshop CM Beginner to Intermediate Level Starts – January 25, 2016!
Whether you have never coded diagnoses before or are just new to ICD-10-CM, this self-paced course is for you! The online course materials are available to you 24 hours a day/7 days week, so you can fit learning into your personal schedule.
The basics of coding and the components of the ICD-10-CM code set are broken out, followed by a separate folder for each “chapter†[body system] so you can choose your own focus for learning. Focus on one specific chapter, such as neurology or circulatory, and be done. Or take your time and work through the entire code set. You will have until the end of May 2016 to finish!
Every folder includes reading material complete with:
- Realistic coding cases provide abstracting and coding practice, including step-by-step directions to determining the correct code, how many codes, and proper sequencing.
- A&P descriptions, illustrations, and information on signs and symptoms enhance comprehension of the coding process, especially when creating queries to request additional information from providers.
- Interactive exercises provide additional reinforcement.
- Guidance Connection feature directs students directly to the applicable Official Guidelines, including specific Section, Chapter, and Subsection.
- BONUS: One folder with more than 50 scenarios and case studies to practice coding and test yourself.

Calling All Students! College HIM Jeopardy Challenge at FHIMA 2016 Convention

FHIMA is excited to present the second College HIM Jeopardy Challenge at the 2016 Annual Convention. During the competition, students will “give questions†covering topics such as medical terminology, coding and reimbursement, privacy and security, health information technology, management, and more.
This is an opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge with peers and professionals across the State of Florida. It can also be a different way to prepare for the RHIT or RHIA certification examination. Based on last year’s event, the 2016 Jeopardy Challenge will be even more fun and exciting! You may even see FHIMA “celebrities†participating.

FHIMA’s Reimbursement Program for those who have taken the RHIA/RHIT exam!
FHIMA is excited to offer another round of partial reimbursement awards for those who have taken the RHIA/RHIT Exam. Currently, the amount reimbursed is $200. Fifteen Individuals will be randomly selected!! The RHIA/RHIT Exam Fee Reimbursement program is funded through the FHIMA Scholarship fund, which is funded through the generous donations by FHIMA members and FHIMA vendor partners.
Our next random drawing will take place in March so visit the FHIMA Website for more information, eligibility and application process.
Deadline for March drawing is Feb. 26, 2016.
