THE STORY OF GOD: Our Christian-education classes for all ages restarted last week, continuing our fall series The Story of God. On the Blog find the upcoming handouts for this Sunday, January 17 to use to prepare your families. Then join us at 9:15 am this Sunday with kids and youth in the Fellowship Hall and adults in the sanctuary.
DEACON NOMINEES: From now through March, our recent deacon nominees (Phillip Anderson, Adam Bailey, William Burk, Jordan Busch, Vince Dammai, Kent Lowry, Scott Peevy, Chad Slayton, and Butler Stoudenmire) will participate in a training process. This training includes areas such as vision, goals, and roles for deacons Biblically and at Redeemer. In April at the end of the training period, there will be an examination with the elders, a congregational election of new deacons, and then an ordination and installation on a Sunday morning. We're thankful for these deacon nominees, their willingness to be nominated, and your prayers for them as we go forward!
HOSTING PRESBYTERY: As many of you know, we began officially this January 2016 belonging to the Lowcountry Presbytery, which was carved out of our old Palmetto Presbytery that had grown so large. On Saturday, January 23 Redeemer will host the first presbytery meeting for the newly formed presbytery, and we need some help in providing lunch for the elders and church representatives in attendance. For the lunch the church is providing chicken, macaroni-and-cheese, green beans, and salad; we need some volunteers to make other side dishes and yummy desserts, since we'll probably be feeding close to 50 people. If you're able to help, please contact JaiLynne Wood with what you can bring, so she can coordinate all the food.
INQUIRERS' CLASS: Whether you’ve been attending Redeemer for two months or two years, our inquirers’ class is a wonderful, casual way to learn more about Redeemer’s story–both how we fulfill our mission of being a Gospel-presence in Charleston and how you can be part of that mission. Our next class is Saturday, February 20 at the church, and we’d love for you to come! Get more details here about the class, our first step toward church membership.
