We’ve had a good year supporting the Museum of Natural History, and raising awareness of the importance of the Museum’s collections in teaching and research. Now, we Friends Officers are asking – what would Friends Members like to do?
Would you enjoy programs such as After Hours at the Museum? Go one-on-one with Museum curators to see how they protect the collections? Small, personalized tours of the Museum’s holdings?
Social Events including discussions of natural history activities?
Local Field Trips. Rambles at the Botanical Garden. A ramble at the granitic outcrops. Spring birding, or listening for frogs? Visits to Fernbank or to the Museum’s Indian Mounds? Spring flora?
Longer Field Trips. Black Rock Mountain (already planned), Okefenokee swamp? Sapelo Island? Or – Australia or Costa Rica? El Yunque on Puerto Rico?
Of course we’ll have our popular Celebration this year, October 8th at the State Botanical Garden.
Our email newsletter lets you know what is happening around the Museum and details about upcoming trips and activities of the Friends. Be sure to check out our website at http://gmnhfriends.org and Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
