ABOUT THE PROGRAM
 
• 173 Mosques in USA have been attacked in 2015
• There is a 660% increase in Muslim teens calling Crisis Text Line
• 7% of Muslim students in New York Schools are beaten up
• 700,000 Muslims in the US have been interviewed by the FBI

This presentation will share the impact of Islamophobia on America and the American Muslim community, as well as 10 strategies which the peace and justice movement can pursue to liberate America from rising fear, hate, and anger.

Imam Abdul Malik Mujahid is an award-winning author and producer. He is President of Sound Vision & Producer of the daily Radio Islam. He is Chair Emeritus of the Parliament of the World’s Religions. He also chairs the Burma Task Force, a national coalition organizations to save lives in Burma. As the National Coordinator of Bosnia Task Force USA, he successfully led efforts to declare rape as a war crime. Imam Mujahid has written more than 400 articles on Islamic living and public policy.

8th Day Center for Justic is a nonprofit coalition in Chicago founded by Catholic religious congregations acting as a critical alternative voice to oppressive systems and working to change those systems.
