Advocacy Alert! Show your support for amended HHS funding resolution

This Thursday (1/28) Austin City Council will vote on a resolution that updates Resolution 20141211-114 (the 2014 resolution that established the social services funding calculator) with the budget increases that were made as part of the FY2016 City budget, and to increase social service contracts by 3% annually, rather than an amount determined by the Consumer Price Index. This change will help social service agencies increase the stability of their services to clients amidst continually rising business costs. The resolution is co-sponsored by Council members Garza, Kitchen and Pool, as well as Mayor ProTem Tovo.

Please reach out to your Boards and advocates and ask that they communicate their support via phone or email (see sample email here) to all Council Members and the Mayor as soon as possible.
