Love Yourself this February
What does it mean to truly love oneself? The details of this question can only be defined by the individual who seeks its answer. Just as there are infinite ways to define love of another, there are equally infinite ways to define love of self. However different those answers are, the core concept is always in place. Love is an emotion to be explored and a vital component to the full human experience.
How we relate to our yoga practice is how we relate to others, as well as how we relate to ourselves. If you view your yoga practice as simply a task to check off the to-do list, perhaps observe if you view other means of self-care as mundane or tedious tasks that need to be done. But if you view your practice as the self care necessary, that which helps you cultivate a caring relationship with yourself, then you'll be able to extend that care to those around you.
It's often easier to love others, without returning that love inward. However, as one who has traversed the often formidable mountains and vociferous seas of self-exploration over the years, I know we can decieve ourselves into thinking we have self-love when in fact at those deepest depths it's rooted in loathing and hatred. Until you take the time (meaning months/years, not minutes) to explore what lies beneath, it'll be impossible to truly love another.
Your yoga practice can serve as a tool to explore that which we are afraid to explore: the inner landscape of who we are and what we truly feel. It won't always be pretty, but it additionally won't always be grueling.
So I challenge each of you for the month of February, to explore the concepts of sel-love. And if that means getting on the mat in order to facilitate that exploration, then CBY can offered a discounted package to financially ease that exploration.
$135 for 14 classes, to be used within the month of February (Feb 1 - 29) to complete the challenge.
For those who successfully complete the challenge (i.e. all classes in 29 days), you'll be given a voucher for 20% off your next 10+1 or 5 pack of classes to continue your exploration on the mat. Unused classes by the end of February won't expire.
How we spend our days is how we spend our life. If you're constantly looking to the next thing without being present in the actions at hand, then are you truly living? And if you're not living, how can you love?
