CONNECTING THE CHURCH THE OTHER SIX DAYS OF THE WEEK

O give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever.—
Psalm 136:1

Introducing Our New Nursery Coordinator!
As you may recall, at the beginning of this month Birgitta Nyman resigned as our nursery coordinator to pursue a call to short term missions.  Over the past two years she had served faithfully in this role and was a blessing to our church.  Also during this time the number of young children and number of families using the nursery grew.  With Birgitta’s resignation we immediately began looking for someone who would be a good fit for this role.  We contacted local colleges and communicated the job through other networks, including a notice in our weekly announcements.
I’m pleased to introduce to you Ashlei Bradshaw, who is enthusiastically looking forward to serving in this position.  Ashlei became connected to our church in the past couple years and began worshiping more frequently with us this fall and winter.  She has volunteered with our children’s ministries, helping at our Fall Fest Swedish Pancake Breakfast and as an assistant in our Sunday School program.  She has a two year old daughter and has a lot of experience caring for young children.   She is friendly, has a positive spirit, and an active faith.  She is excited about our church and looking forward to deepening her commitment.

Ashei was in worship a couple Sundays ago when we announced the position, and she expressed interest after the service.  I’m looking forward to working together and believe this will be a mutually good opportunity for Ashlei and for our church.  I hope you will take the time to get to know her, and support her in this role.

As always, we greatly appreciate all who volunteer in this ministry to the youngest ones in our church, and we continue to need volunteers to serve on a rotation during Sunday school and worship.  In fact, if anything we are hoping to increase the number of volunteers so that Ashlei will be able to worship with us once a month.
If you have any questions please let me know.  Included you’ll find a picture and brief bio introducing Ashlei as she begins service in this position.

In Christ,
Pastor Jay

Ashlei Bradshaw grew up in Saint Joseph, Michigan. She began her journey with the Lord at a young age, attending church regularly with her great grandparents. Ashlei has been working with children since she was a young teen – babysitting, volunteering, and most recently she worked in the infant and toddler rooms at Great Lakes Montessori in Saint Joseph.

She will soon have her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lake Michigan College, to go along with her Associate’s degree in General Studies. Currently, Ashlei is a stay at home mother to her two year old daughter, Holly, and cares for children from time to time in her home. In her spare time she enjoys playing with her daughter, crafts, baking, studying God’s word, reading, board games, and spending time with friends and family.
