I hope your year has gotten off to a great start!

A couple of weekends ago I went on my first ever ski trip, and guess what? I love skiing!

If you told me seven years ago that I would one day become a “skier”, I would have thought you were crazy! Back then, when I first started my Hashimoto's journey, I felt so weak, fatigued and cold all of the time, that I would have NEVER considered this type of physically demanding activity to be within the realm of my abilities.

Physically, my fatigue, joint pains and carpal tunnel would have sabotaged any ability of learning a new athletic skill. Mentally, the cold alone would have been a deterrent, and my anxiety and panic attacks would have convinced me that a ski trip was the equivalent of a suicide mission.

But I did it (and I’m alive to write about it!) I skied for three days straight and felt energized, excited, warm and strong! Don’t get me wrong, I am no “superwoman”… I definitely felt sore after using muscles I hadn’t used before, and I certainly felt vulnerable in learning a brand new skill, but this physical and mental exertion - which would have left me drained and depleted for many weeks just a few short years ago - was not a big deal for me. I woke up every morning at 6:30am during my ski trip to do some work, skied for most of the day, did a little more work, and then enjoyed dinner out with family every evening!

My hope for you, dear reader, is that you too get your health back, so you too can follow your passions and face life’s challenges with energy, strength and peace of mind- this is why I do the work I do!
