Montessori Moment

We are excited to announce a service-learning project! Finding your P.L.A.C.E. (Partnered Learning Activities and Connected Experiences) is a collaborative service learning partnership between the Wood County Committee on Aging (WCCOA), Bowling Green State University, and the Montessori School of Bowling Green.

Upper Elementary MSBG students will share with the elderly participants their work, such as measuring angles in geometry using 3-dimensional shapes, and together they will complete the lesson. BGSU gerontology students will facilitate the activities.

This week, WCCOA Director of Programs Danielle Brogley carried out a training session for our students. Through hands-on training exercises—one of which involved fastening buttons while wearing gloves—they experienced what it feels like to lose sensory perception. Tammy Starr, Occupational Therapist and school mom, has been highly involved in the planning of this program.

Parent Talk Class
Starts Tomorrow!

The Parent Talk System helps parents develop language skills that build self-esteem and encourage responsibility in their children.  Click HERE for more information. The class will meet January 23, 30 and February 6 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Open House

On Friday, January 29, we invite families considering Montessori education to explore our enriching school at their leisure.

Walk around and observe the students, take a guided tour, ask any questions you may have. We are excited to make your visit delightful! There will be light refreshments.

If you are a current or former Montessori parent, or supportive community member, please invite your interested friends to this event.

Any questions can be directed to Caitlin, advancement director, at caitlin@montessorischoolbg.org

National AMS Conference

The MSBG Factuly will be attending the National AMS Conference March 11-14. This national conference will center around discussion and reflection on the fundamental principles, values, and perspectives at the heart of Montessori. It’s an exciting time for the Montessori movement, and we’ll reaffirm our unity of purpose as our numbers grow and our approach gains rapidly increasing interest and recognition.

The teachers have been raising money for this for four years. We have one last small fundraiser to cover some expenses. You can order some amazing Tupperware products! Click HERE to learn more and shop! Orders due by next Thursday!
