We've known "Birdmaster" Shane Bondurant for over 30 years and continue to be amazed at her skill with taxidermy. While she specializes in birds, she also crafts fish skin mounts. Many of Shane's creations adorn our shop's walls. In fact, if you've ever walked over to the far building (where we keep clothing & hunting accessories), you've seen the air duct Shane transformed into a woodsy wonderland with bark, grasses, and birds. Shane is currently offering 10% off all mounts - bird & fish - until April 1. For pricing and other info, call her at 903.848.1234. Her assistant Pat visits our shop on Saturday mornings (on request) to pick up birds from clients.
To make an appointment before April 1, call Shane at 903. 848. 1234.
Take advantage of this unseasonably warm weather and get out for quail season, which is open through the end of the month. Quail populations in Texas have rebounded from the drought that's plagued many regions over the past few years. Stop by the shop to stock up on shells and other gear. If you're in the market for a good quail gun, we recommend the Beretta A400 shotgun in 20 or 28 gauge. The A400 features a 28" barrel, bronze receiver, and a set of Optima chokes. The 20 gauge model is offered with and without the recoil-reducing Kickoff option.

20 gawithKickOff - $1509.99
Quail season closes Feb 28!
Our artistically gifted gunsmith Chris handcrafts one-of-a-kind leather pads for shotguns and rifles. He cuts each pad from a swath of pig skin, and then he shapes, stretches, and sands the leather until it's flush with the buttstock. Next he applies a custom mixed non-transferrable dye, such as oxblood (pictured), mahogany, or black, to complement the color and grain of the stock. Removable leather plugs seal the screw holes for a seamless look. Once dry, the pad is buffed and polished with wax until it glows. Custom leather pads are $400 plus the cost of the base pad.
NERF ALERT: the toy gun maker's latest Double-Dealer Doomlands Blaster features two barrels and two magazines. I feel sorry for little brothers everywhere.
