Hey all, happy new year!

I'm writing to share some new work, upcoming events and BIG NEWS.

First Up: new art in the shop, including a very yellow Pineapple! After many requests, this design has been added to the Illustrated Feast collection. The pineapple is a symbol of hospitality and friendship. In addition, I'm rolling out something special for February 14: a bold and beautiful new design titled HeartBeet.

HeartBeet is available as a 9"x12" print AND a 5"x7" greeting card, available now through the shop. Order soon as a gift for your favorite valentine!

Next Up: It's time to reveal an exciting new project I've been conjuring up quietly, until now. For some of you, this is to confirm the rumors: Iâ€™m working on a new book about Cuban Cuisine! This is a collaboration with Maria Gonzalez, who will lend her treasure trove of classic Cuban recipes to the project; dishes she learned growing up in a Cuban American household. Iâ€™m anxiously awaiting my trip to Cuba in March and April. In the meantime, Iâ€™ll be researching and casting my net to gather as many stories, food memories and cultural tidbits about Cuba as possible. If you have Cuban contacts who would be interested in talking about their heritage and favorite dishes (here or in Cuba), please let me know!

Here's what you can look forward to: a hand drawn recipe book of vibrant Cuban classics, to be released in 2017. I'll be sharing updates via Instagram (mostly), as well as Facebook and Twitter if you'd like to follow along, @marcellakriebel.

Gina Chersevani and I continue our monthly Watercolor Class, come enjoy a seasonal cocktail and paint with us! Participants will bring home one of Chersevani's unique cocktails as a hand-colored illustrated recipe. Line art, techniques sheet and art materials provided.
