YOUR PLACE IN THE CENTRAL LIBRARY
&
The Central Library’s place in citymaking
Judy Hare, former CEO, Halifax Public Libraries
RSVP HERE

Join Citizens Academy as we connect with Judy Hare, the former CEO of the Halifax Public Libraries! As Ottawa plans a new central library, it’s the perfect time to learn about and be inspired by the library being talked about the world over: the Halifax Central Library.

Join us for a generative and provocative public conversation on the potential of a central library as a multi-use community hub and a meaningful public place for shared citymaking. We will learn from Judy how participatory processes with citizens, throughout each stage of development, informed the design and fuelled community ownership and pride. No doubt, she will share lessons learned as well.

We want to hear from Ottawans: what burning questions remain for you as we move through the central library process?

As a panelist for the Royal Society of Canada’s “The Future Now: Canada's Libraries, Archives, and Public Memory”, Judy has a national vantage point from which to understand the power of the public library as an essential part of our civic infrastructure and community capital.

WHERE: FSS 4007, University of Ottawa
WHEN: Feb 18, 2016, 5-8 pm
Presentation 5 – 6 pm
