            DnA's Top- Tip!

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software transforms images of text into accessible text files. Perfect for turning revision notes or photocopies from books into usable, editable documents! RoboBraille.org is a free website which allows you to do exactly that, and more! It has 4 functions- conversion of inaccessible files into braille, audio, e-books or text files. Simply upload your document to the website, and RoboBraille will send it back as either an accessible PDF or Word document (or mp3 etc). You don't even have to make an account!

BOOK LAUNCH!

Challenging existing assumptions about disability, Roddy Slorach's new book masterfully unpicks the origins of the term 'disability', pitching it as a socially constructed idea which can be better understood through analysis of Marxist capitalist theory. He argues the marginalisation and demonisation of disabled people can perhaps be attributed to the capitalist commoditisation and marketisation of our minds and bodies...

Book launch Thurs 11th Feb, 6.30pm at Unite Head Office, London. Reserve your place here or call 020 7637 1848.
