GRANT FEATURE: BC Cup a starting gate for developing athletes
 

Curious to learn more about the provincial event, viaSport Media went behind-the-scenes at the recent BC Cup for bobsleigh and skeleton. Funded in part by the Hosting BC grant, and hosted at the Whistler Sliding Centre, the BC Cup is a starting gate for athletes looking to compete on the national stage.

The Province of British Columbia has announced the latest recipients of the Local Sport Program Development (LSPD) fund, Girls Only grants, and FAB 55+ grants. 

Thirty-four grants totaling $60,000 have been awarded to clubs and programs around the province for the development of community sport. Read the full release here
  The latest round of LSPD, Girls Only, and FAB 55+ are now open! Deadline to apply is February 18, 2016.

“We trained with the boys.” Not the usual statement you would hear from a female Paralympic athlete. But as Andrea Brousseau (Dziewior) explains, in para-alpine skiing there is only one team. No women’s team, no men’s team, everyone trains together.
