Elders & Leaders Workshop with Dr. Gene Getz
The New Testament is clear that Elders and leaders are God’s plan for leading the church. On January 9, Dr. Gene Getz walked us through the pages of the New Testament, examining what the Bible says about these roles, and showing both cultural and supra-cultural principles. Listen to the audio recording below to learn more about these vital roles in the church. Click here to listen to the recording.

Budget Update

God has demonstrated His provision through the generosity of our church family and we received year-end offerings that amounted to the highest online giving for a week and a day, making it the second highest December giving. We still may finish the year below our anticipated giving target, but well controlled spending, that is far below income, will allow us to end the fiscal year in the black. Thank you Jesus, thank you EvFree.

LOVE EUROPE | Now More Than Ever

Did you know that Europe is the least evangelized continent in the world? Less than 4% of Europeans attend church regularly. Or how about this—there are more practicing Muslims than evangelical Christians in France.

These facts fly in the face of preconceived notions about Europe, as many of us recall iconic photos of cathedrals and churches in every European hamlet and village. Now, many of those churches are empty and occupied by tourists rather than parishioners. Some have even become mosques.

As immigrants flee from Africa and the Middle East onto the shores of Europe, they’re bringing with them their culture, religion and a host of challenges for their newly adopted countries. Experts tell us that unless there’s a major spiritual revolution in Europe, Islam will soon become the dominant religion of this once Christian stronghold.

As one missionary recently put it: “Europe desperately, desperately, desperately needs people to go and talk about Jesus.”

NOW MORE THAN EVER

This is exactly why EvFree Fullerton believes that now is the time to send teams to Europe to support our full-time missionaries engaged in sharing the Gospel and fighting for the very survival of Christianity. Our partners have recently requested that we...

Offering Prayer to a Stranger

Brian was rescued by Jesus, grew in his faith, started and pastored a church in central California and now stands with me in a sea of refugees in Berlin where God has led him and his family to live and work.

Hamid, standing in the dirt next to me in front of a large screen with numbers looks young, tired and lonely. I ask him his story and out flows a saga of his five-month journey from Afghanistan to Berlin on foot and train. He shows me photos of his family who sent him first as the strongest to see if they could get asylum in Germany away from the bombings, random killings and persecution of Christians like himself.

He wonders if there is any hope...

Fifth Sunday Prayer Walk—January 31

One way of loving our neighbors—perhaps the most important way—is to pray for them. And one way to join in doing that as couples, families, friends and neighbors is to prayer walk our neighborhoods on every fifth Sunday of the year, something we began right after Thanksgiving and will continue throughout 2016.

For Sunday January 31, Prayer Ministry Lead Team member Jeff Bradbury has provided a suggestion [based on writings of Dallas Willard] of how to pray over surrounding homes. Click here to see his recommendation.

A suggested time is 4 pm, but of course any time or any day is a good day to pray for those who live in close proximity. And if you missed Dave Runyon’s message on “The Art of Neighboring” Sunday January 17, take the time to watch it as inspiration to risk and reach out in love to your neighbors.
