“Cambria Estates sets the benchmark for ‘value’ wines: exceptional quality at reasonable prices.”  -- Al Buchanan, Proprietor, Geneva Wine Cellars

Join us Thursday, January 28th, at 6pm as we explore the Santa Maria Valley in California with the help of Jeff Howell who represents Cambria and Byron Estate Wineries. Al, the illustrious owner of GWC, recently had the opportunity to meet one of the principal owners of Cambria. He fell in love with the Jackson Family’s story and the Clone 4 wines they produce. The Clone 4 wines are from specific clones of the original plantings of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on the estate. Taste and Learn!
  • Taste seven outstanding wines and hear the fascinating story of each one
  • Wines paired with delicious appetizers
  • Informative and entertaining multimedia presentation by Mr. Jeff Howell of Jackson Family
  • Learn how cool-climate “terroir” affects grapes and wine
  • Learn about “sustainable viticulture” practices and how they affect wine
  • Learn about “clones” - taste and compare single-clone varietals to blended-clone varietals
  • Special “one night only” pricing on these high-quality/ high-value wines
  • Eligible buyers participate in raffle of Double Magnum (3-Liter) bottle of Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir
Santa Maria Valley has a rich history, however much of the singularity and excellence of this appellation is due in great part to the East-West transverse valley that runs through it. This helps create a 125-day average growing season where temperatures rarely top 75 degrees. It’s all about location when producing world class wines, and this area produces some of the top Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah grapes in the world. This will be an educational seminar giving you some brief history on the area, the wineries, and most importantly an opportunity to taste the following wines with complimentary paired appetizers:

2014 Cambria Tespuquet Viognier

2013 Cambria Katherine’s Vineyard Chardonnay (91pt Wine Enthusiast)

2014 Cambria Clone 4 Chardonnay

2013 Cambria Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir

2014 Cambria Clone 4 Pinot Noir

2012 Byron Monument Vineyard Pinot Noir (94pt Wine Enthusiast, 92pt Wine Advocate (Parker), 92pt Wine Spectator)

2013 Cambria Tepusquet Syrah
Seminar seating is limited and almost always sells out. Reserve your seats with Al, al@genevawinecellars.com or 630 232-8888.
