The call for proposals is now open for the 24th Annual Korea TESOL International Conference, scheduled to be held in Seoul on October 15 & 16, 2016. The theme for the conference is "Shaping the Future with 21st Century Skills," and proposals will be accepted through May 31. To learn more or to submit a proposal, please visit the KOTESOL website.

The newest issue of The English Connection (TEC; vol. 19, no. 4, Winter 2015) is now available online! This issue has a special focus on climate change, and it also boasts the inauguration of a new column by Dr. Thomas Farrell on reflective practice.

You'll still be able to access all issues of TEC online--even the most recent ones, as long as your membership is current.

Daegu-Gyeongsangbuk Chapter
The Daegu-Gyeongsangbuk chapter of KOTESOL is scheduling a greater number of shorter presentations at their monthly workshops; to this end, they are currently soliciting proposals for 30- to 40-minute presentations on practical English language teaching theory and practice, especially topics that are relevant to ELT in Korea.
The chapter offers an open and enthusiastic environment in which to hone presentation skills and also welcomes first-time presenters. A small stipend may be available to compensate presenters for their time and travel costs.

Seoul Chapter
The KOTESOL Seoul Chapter holds workshops on a variety of topics on the third Saturday of each month. The chapter is currently looking for people with topics of interest to present over the next year. For more information and submission guidelines, please click here.

The Christian Teachers Special Interest Group (CT SIG) invites all KOTESOL members to attend the 2016 Christians in ELT (CELT) International Conference, which will be held June 24 & 25 at Yonsei University in Seoul. KOTESOL members are entitled to a discount on registration fees; in addition, discounts are offered on early registration, now through April 30. JALTCALL 2016 Conference
A note from the co-chairs of JALTCALL 2016:
From June 3-5, 2016, JALTCALL 2016 will be held at Tamagawa University in Tokyo, Japan. This year we are having a joint conference with the recently-formed BRAIN SIG (neuroscience). The theme is "CALL and the BRAIN." Our keynote speaker this year will be Mark Pegrum (University of Western Australia), author and researcher in the field of digital literacies, and there will be a virtual presentation by our plenary speaker, Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa (FLACSO, Quito, Ecuador), author of Making Classrooms Better and Mind, Brain, and Education Science.

JALT PanSIG Conference
The 15th JALT PanSIG Conference will be held May 20-23 in Okinawa, Japan. Online registration for participants will be available soon, with early bird discounts available through April 10.
The PanSIG International Conference is an annual event sponsored and organized by special interest groups (SIGs) of the Japan Association for Language Teaching (JALT). The conference brings together leading scholars and practitioners in language education from Japan, Asia, and throughout the world. For more information, please click here.
