Hailing originally from Venezuela, and now based in Barcelona, Fur Coat’s story is one of passion for salsa and soul, blended with love for electronic music. It’s a tale of deep, dark driven beats and rolling grooves that both encapsulates the mind and moves the feet. It was this love of music that by chance in 2004 brought Sergio Munoz and Israel Sunshine together and led to a musical intertwining which would drape itself royally over the shoulders of the music industry. This is the story of Fur Coat ahead of their muchly awaited Bali debut at Jenja this weekend.

Finnebassen is about quality over quantity, while lots of artists in the game in recent years have gone down the monthly release schedule our favourite Norwegian prefers to take the road less travelled and comes up trumps again. Rotunda is a epic journey even the most concerned techno enthusiast would be proud of. Stripping things right back in all the right places and dropping back into a chimed arrangement before the double up bubbling bass line drives this track thru all in its path adding layer after layer of crisp percussion thats made for late night affairs where ever you may find yourself raving to this one. Get on the floor. 5/5 DRW

ITS THE NEW PURPLE- PURPLE DISCO MACHINE
International DJ, producer and remixer Tino Piontek, better known as Purple Disco Machine has been on the rise since the conception of his “Deep Funk” project in 2009. The Dresden-based artist has attained various accomplishments since then and is established worldwide nowadays. Purple Disco Machines breakthrough though was in 2013 with the hit ‘My House’ on OFF Recordings. The track took over Beatport and reached the number one spot on Beatport Deep House charts and reached the third spot overall. But of course the success didn’t end there and besides the track remaining in Beatports Deep House Top 100 one year later. Catch our colorful friend shaking Koh up Jan 28.

MY SOUND IS YOUR SOUND – LADY BEE
Sweet like chocolate but Murdering Dem on the beats! With releases on Mad Decent, Mixmash & Dim Mak and her Loffit concept, she conquering the globe. After 10 successful years as an MC, Lady Bee (Bianca Latupapua) knows how to hype up the crowd and now she is determined to blow up the speakers in every club. This time not with her energetic & powerful voice, but with her unique combination of house, urban & dubstep beats. Her love for becoming a DJ grew in 2002. So Bee bought herself turntables and that’s when her love and passion for music became next level sh*t. Catch our favourite Dutch bumble bee rocking Urbanized this Wednesday.

MAKING HIS OWN RULE BOOK - AEROPLANE
In just a few years, Vito De Luca, the Italian-Belgian producer behind Aeroplane, has established himself as party-starting DJ. He has never been at the mercy of traditional bpms, and being free of “the dancefloor pressure” has given Vito additional license to slow things down and look around, finding the perfect blend between club music, pop hooks, and spaced-out soundscapes. The start of Vito’s own label Aeropop has seen many collaborations with big names and a fresh, exciting, variety of music releases allowing Vito to flex his classically trained musical muscles in all directions, just like his touring schedule.

RE-LIVE DAVID BOWIE’S 1979 DJ SET
It’s been a couple days now, but we’re all still lamenting the passing of David Bowie. Whether it be through DJ routines or simply stating their grief, the world has been busy honoring the legendary musician in some form or another. However, there’s nothing nearly as comforting as re-living the man’s performances and appearances. Fact Mag has just dug up David Bowie’s appearance on BBC Radio 1 from March 20th, 1979. Jockeying his most beloved records along with descriptions of his own experiences with them, this recording is an absolute gem, and the only DJ set we were able to unearth from the legend.

ICE CUBE HINTS N.W.A COMEBACK SHOW
Attendees of this year’s Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California will undoubtedly be treated to some of the most momentous reunions in all of the event’s history. In addition to Guns N’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem, it appears that rapper Ice Cube‘s Saturday sets will see the inclusion of some old friends.Ice Cube this week on American national TV quoted “I’ve got some tricks up my sleeves. I’m gonna try to bring the members of N.W.A together.
