LIBRARY HOURS CHANGE
The Stevens County Library will change the hours the library is open for patrons.  Beginning February 9, 2016, library hours will be 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.  We will remain open during the lunch hour for the convenience of our patrons.  The book drop at the front of the building is available 24 hours a day for returns of any type of material.  
LOCAL ARTISTS’ EXHIBITION
The Local Artists’ Exhibition is now open.  You may view the exhibit during library hours until February 26 when the meeting room is not in use.  Come in and see some of our talented local artists’ work.
ADULT WINTER READING PROGRAM
The adult winter reading program “Fire It Up” is approaching its halfway point.  Twenty-nine participants are currently registered, with a total of 74 books turned in for prizes.  .  The program will run through Saturday, March 19.  It’s so simple to participate -register today and begin reading.  Turn in what you have read for prizes!  Prizes will be awarded weekly.  Winners’ names and the prizes they selected will be posted on the library’s Facebook page.  Check it out at www.facebook.com/StevensCountyLibrary!

KIDS’ WINTER READING PROGRAM
FETCH A GOOD BOOK, the kids’ winter reading program ended January 30, 2016.  The winning team was Team Rocky with 341.2 total points.  Team Spot finished with 310.2 points and Team Pepper was very close behind with 299.7 points.  Since all 3 teams did a FANTASTIC job of reading (just look at how close those final scores are!), we have decided that ALL the kids who actively participated will receive a special reward! 
If your child's name is on this list, send him/her down to the library to pick up their reward!

A Birthday for Cow! 6 by 6 Kit
This kit is ideal for Talkers, ages 2-3. A Birthday for Cow!
 by Jan Thomas will open discussions about sincere gift-giving and thoughtfulness. Animal lacing cards will develop hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity, as well as teach animal recognition. An activity “recipe card” is included to encourage education and fun adult/child interactions. A 6 by 6 Card Set is also included. Check out a fun 6 by 6 kit today!
  • 6 by 6 kits are available for adult checkout only. 
  • 6 by 6 kits are intended for use by families and caregivers of children ages 0-6.
  • Limit ONE 6 by 6 kit per household at a time.
  • 6 by 6 kits are checkable for 2 weeks at a time.
  • Late fees for 6 by 6 kits are $1.00 per day overdue.
  • Patron is responsible for any missing pieces.
  • Replacement cost for a 6 by 6 kit is $60.00
LIBRARY FEES
Library fees have changed.  Overdue books, audios, and magazines are now 10 cents per day per item.  Overdue fees for videogames will DECREASE from $5.00 per day to $1.00 per day.  All other overdue fees will remain the same.
