Crystal Bright & the Silver Hands - Muses & Bones CD - "Pigeonholing Crystal Bright and the Silver Hands' new disc, Muses and Bones, is tough. Bright's theatrical voice and reedy accordion lead the way for a bizarre melange of styles including polka, gypsy folk, old French parlor songs, cabaret, and even a touch of Latin flair." - Consequence of Sound
Crystal Bright & the Silver Hands - The Absolute Elsewhere CD - "If you are a fan of Kate Bush, Dresden Dolls, Beirut, Tom Waits, Siouxsie & the Banshees, the Decemberists, Danny Elfman/Tim Burton or Yann Tiersen and enjoy exotic instruments like musical saws, concertina and accordions, this is the perfect album for you.  Bright has an eclectic, haunting but yet whimsical, carnivalesque world folk sound, dubbed "kaleidophrenic cabaret." - AXS.com

The Allman Brothers Band - Crackdown Concert 1986 CD - Heavily policed and not quite sold out, the Crack-Down Concert at Madison Square Gardens on October 31st 1986, performed by an eclectic array of artists, was arranged by Bill Graham as a benefit for the Artists for Crack Education Program - which existed at the time to recruit celebrities to speak out against the use of crack. In 1986 crack was an unknown narcotic for the average American, but it was one that was already badly affecting the lives of many young people - most notably young African-Americans, and predominantly then in the New York borough in which Graham himself had grown up.
Frank Zappa - The Muffin Man Goes To College: 1975 Radio Broadcast feat. Capt. Beefheart (2CD) - Of all the Frank Zappa tours, the spring of 1975 is the most unusual and frustrating. The performances could range from absolutely exhilarating to rather drab with slopping renditions of composed "core" pieces like "Advance Romance" and "Willie The Pimp" played in the midst of brilliant improvisations by Zappa, Captain Beefheart and the other musicians in the band. Add to this the paucity of really good recordings, and the frustration is obvious.
Primus - Groundhog Day: 1989 Student Radio Broadcast CD - Fascinating Insight Into A Legendary Band And How Well Formed Their Hugely Influential Sound Was At Such An Early Point

"Hey...we're Primus and we suck" So quips Primus vocalist and bassist Les Claypool, uttering the immortal words that would become something of a regular fan chant for audiences worldwide, albeit with collective tongues, for the main part, embedded in collective cheeks.
Steely Dan - Doing It In California: 1974 Radio Broadcast CD - Partly because of Donald Fagen's reluctance to sing onstage, partly due to he and Walter Becker's perfectionism, and partly because the pairs' compositions and arrangements were so complex - requiring all manner of studio hardware to reproduce - Steely Dan played very few live concerts during their early career, indeed by the middle of 1974 they had given up touring entirely.
Tom Petty - In The Coliseum: 1987 Radio Broadcast - Jacksonville FL CD - From a gig at the Florida Coliseum in Jacksonville during summer of 1987, this dynamic show finds Tom and the Heartbreakers (Mike Campbell on lead guitar, Benmont Tench on keyboards, Howie Epstein on bass and mandolin, and Stan Lynch on drums) on tour to promote the April '87 release 'Let Me Up ( I've Had Enough)'. This particular show however featured only one cut from the album, Runaway Trains, notably omitting the record's hit single Jammin' Me, a song composed by Petty and Campbell with Bob Dylan.
Talking Heads - Boston Tea Party: 1979 Radio Broadcast CD - Featuring an excellent radio broadcast from Talking Heads in August 1979 when, back on home turf in Boston, Massachusetts, the band played a rip roaring set to those smart enough to have bought a ticket and those lucky enough to have been living in the greater Boston vicinity to whom local FM radio transmitted the entire proceedings.

Rumpke Mountain Boys - High Time, Low Tide CD - With the release of their 4th self-produced album the RMB have blended the best parts of their past albums into "High Time, Low Tide". Using very little over dubs or studio magic the boys have decanted the essence of "Trashgrass" and "Moon" and bottled it up into 13 original songs. Taking from their own personal journeys, the listener is brought along to experience the highs and lows of the human condition. From the first sounds of the ocean and driving tempo of "Rolling Waves" to the last blast of "That's Life" RMB's' "High Time, Low Tide" spans the breath of emotions that adventure holds. Whether by sea, road, or sky, Rumpke brings us along with seemingly familiar sounds to be discovered in lands beyond our own minds eye.......
Tedeschi Trucks Band -  Let Me Get By CD/ Deluxe Box - An album of firsts - in addition to being the first TTB record Derek produced on his own (with the contribution of Doyle Bramhall II performing/co-producing on three tracks), and the first on which he and Susan co-wrote all the songs within the TTB family, it's Derek's first album since his 15-year run as a member of the Allman Brothers concluded when the group disbanded last year, providing time for Derek and engineer Bobby Tis to spend countless hours in the studio honing the sounds and arrangements for this album. It's also the first lead vocals on a TTB album for Mike Mattison, whose songwriting and harmonies have always been one of the defining features of the band's albums. Finally, it's the first album with Tim Lefebvre on board, whose deeply propulsive bass lines drive the rhythm section in exciting new directions on record.
Bob Margolin - My Road CDMulti-award winning guitar player/songwriter/singer releases MY ROAD. A  fresh focus for the Muddy Waters Band alumnus - both musically and lyrically. The album was produced by Grammy-winning producer Michael Freeman and recorded at Fidelitorium Recordings in Kernersville, NC. Joining Margolin (guitar/vocals) in the studio are Chuck Cotton (drums/vocals) and Tad Walters (guitar/harp). The album features 6 new Margolin originals (plus 2 co-writes) and 4, written by friends, Margolin had long wanted to cover.
