Critical Need to Know and Action
Children’s Workforce Survey
A better future for vulnerable children is at the heart of both the Children's Action Plan and the Vulnerable Children Act 2014.

The Children’s Workforce Survey is being run by Research NZ on behalf of The Children’s Action Plan Directorate.  We have been asked to distribute this on their behalf and we encourage you to participate.  The survey will help us understand the current workforce and ensure investments in the workforce are focused in the right areas.

Your response will help us build a connected, competent, children’s workforce which works together to respond effectively when things aren’t right for children.

This short online survey will run until 15 March 2016.

There are two questionnaires in this survey which each take around ten minutes to complete. The links for registration are included below. By registering, you will have the option to save and resume if you’re interrupted while completing the survey.

All responses to the questionnaire will be completely anonymous.
  1. The individual questionnaire should be completed by staff and volunteers who plan, manage or deliver services to children, or, who plan, manage or deliver services to adults with children and may be in a position to identify child vulnerability. Please access the individual questionnaire here

  2. The organisational questionnaire should be completed by one person on behalf of their ECE service, kōhanga reo or playgroup. This should be the person who is best placed to comment on the ECE service, kōhanga reo or playgroup’s current policies and practices with regard to the children’s workforce.  Please access the organisational questionnaire here.

Electronic RS7 submission update
The Ministry has experienced some technical difficulties over the last 24 hours.  This has affected service’s ability to submit their RS7 funding data electronically.  The issue occurred due to the large volumes of schools enrolment data and RS7 data currently being received into the Ministry systems.

The situation has now been resolved and services are able to submit their RS7 data electronically.  Please contact the Resourcing Contact Centre on 0800 ECE ECE (0800 323 323) should you continue to experience any problems with submitting your RS7 data.

Please be aware that there are currently delays with the Ministry sending confirmation emails when data has been received.  We are working on resolving this issue and hope to have the confirmation emails sent to all services who have correctly submitted their RS7 data shortly.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.  The final date for sending your RS7 data to the Ministry is Friday 5th February 2016.
