AmericaServes Network Updates


The AmericaServes team is committed to keeping key stakeholders apprised of our progress. Most recently, we've been on the road in Boston, Massachusetts; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Orlando, Florida for our AmericaServes Community Discussions. In addition to learning a great deal from the leaders in these communities, we've been working in Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina and Charleston, South Carolina to develop comprehensive community based strategies. 
  • As of 1 February, there are 1,368 unique veterans, servicemembers, and military families that either self-referred or were referred by Network Providers into the NYServes - NYC Network
  • On Thursday, 25 February the NYServes - NYC Network will host its fourth quarterly IPR.  Please register to attend: NYServes-NYC IPR#4
As of 1 February, there have been 1,892 unique assistance requests created to connect veterans, servicemembers, and military families to services, resources, and care. Top demands for services include housing (29%), employment (28%) and legal assistance (11%)
  • As of 1 February, there are 571 unique veterans, servicemembers, and military families that either self-referred or were referred by Network Providers into the NCServes-Metrolina Network
  • Last week, our partners at the North Carolina Division of Veterans Affairs released their annual report; citing NCServes  as a key initiative within their inter-agency reform. Read the full report. The public/private partnership with the State has been spotlighted as a best practice by our public sector partners across the country
  • On Friday 5 February, NCServes - Metrolina will host its second quarterly IPR. Please Register to attend: NCServes-Metrolina IPR #2
As of 1 February, there have been 1,196 unique assistance requests created to connect veterans, servicemembers, and military families to services, resources, and care. Top demands for services include employment (30%), housing (16%), and financial assistance (15%) 
  • As of 1 February, there are 150 unique veterans, servicemembers, and military families that either self-referred or were referred by Network Providers into the PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh Network
  • Our partners at the Heinz Endowments recently completed a perspective on the PAServes - Greater Pittsburgh. This piece spotlights the challenges of self navigation and the value of PAServes in Butler, Westmoreland, and Allegheny county. Read the Perspective: Fixing Our Heroes' Welcome
As of 1 February, there have been 231 unique assistance requests created to connect veterans, servicemembers, and military families to services, resources, and care. Top demands for services include housing (24%), financial assistance (19%), and benefits (19%)
AmericaServes Expansion
  • On 30 January, IVMF released the Request for Proposal for the NCServes-Raleigh/Durham Coordination Center. We encourage you to share the opportunity within your network. We'll be hosting a vendor solicitation event on Thursday, February 11th at Wake Technical Community College. Please register here: NCServes-Raleigh/Durham Strategy Session #4. The stand up of Raleigh/Durham marks the second of four coordinations across the state of North Carolina

The Institute has four remaining community discussions as part of it's Collective Impact tour: Chicago, IL on 4 February; Bay Area, CA on 19 February; Jacksonville, FL (rescheduling due to weather); and Dallas, TX (tentatively May, 2016)
