Feedback needed to help understand consumers' local food purchasing

Please share this opportunity- the more information received, the more reliable the report

Johnson County Community,

The Johnson County Food Policy Council, along with The Marketing Institute at the Tippie College of Business, invites you to participate in a short survey regarding the local food movement.

As the local food movement continues to grow nationwide, we would like to better understand consumers’ general attitude and awareness of the local food movement, the potential success of a “buy local” campaign and its potential to influence shopping behavior at the retail level in Johnson County.

We are looking for individuals who are 18 and older to take a short online survey. Participants must be comfortable using a computer with access to the Internet. The survey should take about 5-6 minutes to complete.  Data collected will be aggregated with that of others for reporting purposes. We are not collecting personal contact information or personal identifiers.

If you would like to participate, please click on the following link: Click Here to Begin Survey

We appreciate your time. If you have any questions, please contact the Marketing Institute at (319) 335-3753 or email:  peggy-e-stover@uiowa.edu

Thank you,

Johnson County Food Policy Council, University of Iowa Marketing Institute, Field to Family and other project partners

IN TWO DAYS! Please join us!
Alliances: Rediscovering our Food System
3rd Annual Johnson County Food Policy Council Public Forum

February 4, 2016
Montgomery Hall, Johnson County Fairgrounds
Iowa City, IA

Join us Thursday, February 4th, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. for Alliances—Rediscovering our Food System, a public forum where we will discuss six identified sectors of the food system—land stewardship, food production, distribution, retail, the eater, and the waste stream in Johnson County—and how they all come together to create a vibrant, intact, community-based food system in which each and every one of us can participate. This event is free and open to the public. Food and refreshments will be provided.

5:00-6:45 p.m.: Networking & Organization Expo: Meet the agencies, organizations, and businesses working within the Johnson County food system. Field to Family, Farm to School and many other non-profits and businesses will have a booth at this event.
7:00-8:30 p.m.: Panel and discussion: Alliances—Rediscovering our Food System

The food system is a complex network made up of the processes that keep us fed. Each link of the food system is vital, yet as a culture we are often removed from many of the components that make the food system whole. How can we, through our alliances in the community, rediscover our food system, reassert our individual roles, and build together toward a common vision?

Businesses, Farmers and Organizations working within the food system are invited to set-up a booth.
This is a networking opportunity to engage the public in the work you are doing, as well as interact and coordinate with other organizations and businesses involved in food systems work. Contact us if you would like more information on how to sign-up for a free booth.

Our work is supported by our members and supporters. Our 2016 Membership Campaign is on-going. Please pledge your support for Field to Family today!
