Seeking community input into drought funding
The Victorian Government believes that the communities affected by drought are best placed to inform how the $10 million Drought Response Fund should be allocated.
Community input to the fund is being captured in a number of ways, including three survey options:
A) Public participation in an on-line forum at www.oursay.org/vicdrought has been strong with 47 ideas posted to date receiving 3,186 votes and 110 comments. The on-line forum remains open until 31 January.
B) People wanting to provide comment anonymously can go to www.surveymonkey.com/r/vicdrought
C) A hard copy survey here can be filled in, scanned and emailed to drought.support@ecodev.vic.gov.au OR printed two-sided, folded and posted using the Reply Paid address on the reverse of the form.
Women on Farms Gathering
Initial registrations for the Annual Victorian Women on Farms Gathering to be held in Hopetoun in March are coming in from every region in Victoria. The event is attracting interest from farming women, women from rural communities, women working in the agribusiness service sector as well as people interested in specific program highlights.
The 2016 event, the 27th WOFG for Victoria, will commence on Friday evening, 18 March and conclude at lunchtime on Sunday, 20 March.
Organising Committee Chair Cr Helen Ballentine said that registrations, which opened in mid-January were steadily flowing in. Approximately 300 people are expected to register by the end of February.
People may register for a day, the whole weekend or for any particular activity. The program for the weekend is available on the website www.hopetounwofg2016.com.au or by contacting Cr Ballentine on 0429 006 016. Registration forms can be downloaded from the website or you can register online.
