  • Download the Amwell app and bring the doctor to you! Wherever you are and whenever you need care, Amwell doctors are available online or through your mobile app. Use Amwell for minor acute care issues, such as the flu or ear infections. 
    • Register for Amwell online today – or download the app on your mobile device
    • Those who register between Jan. 15 and Feb. 15 will receive a FREE Kinsa Smart Thermometer (enter “trust” as the Amwell service key and have your WEA Trust ID Card handy)

'Sister Act' opened Feb. 5


Kenosha Unified Theatre Arts is proud to present “Sister Act” in the Bradford High School auditorium, 3700 Washington Road.

The musical is based on the hit 1992 film. When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in a covenant. Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with the lifestyle and Mother Superior. Filled with gospel music, dancing and a moving story, “Sister Act” is sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or on KUSD.edu. Tickets are $5 for students and staff, $8 for senior citizens and $10 for general admission.

Remaining show dates are Feb. 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 14 at 2 p.m.

Choral Fest is around the corner


Kenosha Unified School District’s 50th annual Choral Fest will be presented on Saturday, Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Bradford High School field house. The event will showcase more than 1,100 students from the elementary, middle, high and charter schools. Tickets are available online and include premium reserved floor seating for $7 or general admission bleacher seating for $6. This event has a history of selling out in advance.

January events wowed crowds


Kenosha Unified was alive with events to entertain and educate families and community members during the month of January. Both Band-O-Rama and the PowerUP College and Scholarship Resource Fair were well attended, bringing in more than 5,500 visitors combined interested in what KUSD had to offer.

Band-O-Rama was held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Indian Trail High School and Academy. This event showcased more than 1,600 students from KUSD's elementary, middle, high and charter schools. The two-day event sold out on Saturday and nearly sold out on Sunday. Both days were filled with multiple rounds of applause for the talented students and staff who performed.

The first-ever PowerUP College and Resource Fair also was held on Saturday, Jan. 30. The event took place at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and drew more than 400 students and their parents/guardians looking to learn more about opportunities available to them. The event was a huge success and planning for next year is already underway. 

'Front' opens Feb. 17


Kenosha Unified Theatre Arts is proud to present “Front” beginning Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Indian Trail High School and Academy auditorium, 6800 60th St.

Set in England during the Blitz, a number of struggling individuals and families come to terms with war and the horrors and tragedies it provides. This includes Judith, a proud matriarch, who works in a factory that makes bomb detonators, her missing husband, Frank, and their two children, Sheila and John, who are forced to grow up much too quickly. A number of other war-torn individuals are also profiled, each butting heads with the raging war.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or online on KUSD.edu. Tickets are $5 for students and staff, $8 for senior citizens and $10 for general admission.

Show dates are Feb. 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Strategic planning resumes Feb. 17


The strategic planning design teams will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 17, to learn more about their duties and how their work will impact the direction of the district. The teams will work to develop the initiatives to support the five strategic directions: 
  1. Increase academic achievement for all students by prioritizing, planning and implementing recommendations from the curriculum audit.

  2. Implement transparent fiscal management practices that prioritize and align resources with strategic goals.

  3. Retain and recruit highly qualified staff who work to ensure the success of every student.

  4. Enhance the leadership and expertise of all staff through professional learning and collaboration.

  5. Foster and strengthen community partnerships to increase student learning and family engagement.

Band-O-Rama rocked the house

The Kenosha Unified School District’s 59th annual Band-O-Rama showcased more than 1,600 students from KUSD’s elementary, middle, high and charter schools. This year’s guest conductor was Dr. Quincy Hilliard, composer-in-residence and the Heymann Endowed Professor of Music at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Hilliard visited each of the secondary schools in the days leading up to the concert to present clinics and offer feedback to students in preparation for the event.
